Job summary

Altra Homecare Group in Indiana is seeking an in-person Healthcare Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruiting for caregivers and clinical staff, including HHAs, CNAs, and PCAs. The role also oversees day-to-day staff scheduling, building a reliable talent pool, and delivering a quality hiring experience.

You will create schedules, match caregivers to clients by skills and location, and ensure shifts are filled promptly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, business, healthcare administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of recruiting or staffing experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience with scheduling/coordinating in home care or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with caregiver credentials (HHA, CNA, PCA) and licensing requirements.
• Experience with an ATS and scheduling software.
• Strong communication and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

This is an in-person position, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at our office.

Position Summary

The Healthcare Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruiting of caregivers and clinical staff, including Home Health Aides (HHAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Personal Care Aides (PCAs) as well as managing day-to-day staff scheduling. You will build a reliable talent pipeline, deliver an excellent hiring experience, and ensure every client visit is covered by a qualified, available caregiver.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting

• Manage the full recruiting cycle: sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer, and onboarding handoff

• Source candidates through job boards, social media, community partnerships, referrals, nursing schools, and career fairs

• Write and post compelling job ads that attract caregivers and clinicians

• Conduct phone screens and interviews to assess skills, experience, and availability

• Verify licenses, certifications, references, and background checks in compliance with state and federal requirements

• Build and maintain a talent pool of active candidates

Scheduling

• Create, manage, and adjust caregiver schedules to match client care plans, service hours, and geographic needs

• Match caregivers to clients based on skills, certifications, availability, location, language, and client preferences

• Fill open shifts quickly, including last-minute call-outs, cancellations, and urgent client requests

• Maintain an on-call or backup caregiver list and communicate shift offers by phone or text

• Confirm shifts with caregivers and clients, and follow up on late arrivals or missed visits

• Use scheduling and EVV (electronic visit verification) software to track visits, hours, and coverage gaps

• Monitor caregiver hours to manage overtime, workload balance, and payroll accuracy

Compliance & Collaboration

• Ensure hiring and scheduling practices comply with HIPAA, wage-and-hour rules, and state home care regulations

• Maintain accurate, confidential candidate, employee, and scheduling records

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  

Preferred

• 2+ years of recruiting or staffing experience, preferably in healthcare, home care, or high-volume hiring

• Experience with scheduling or staffing coordination, ideally in home care or another healthcare setting

• Working knowledge of caregiver and nursing credentials (HHA, CNA, PCA) and licensing requirements

• Experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and scheduling software

• Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills

• Ability to multitask and problem-solve under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $45,00 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience
