Job summary

BioMedical Services, Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee procurement of hospital equipment, supplies and services, ensuring safety, quality, compliance and cost efficiency in support of patient care.

You will lead strategic sourcing, manage purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers, train the team, and serve as the main contact for the hospital MM group, with opportunities to influence processes and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4-years’ experience as a Buyer in a healthcare industry required.
• Minimum 3-years of related experience within procurement or in process improvement required.
• Prior supervisory experience and a proven track record in developing high performance teams in involving Buyer/Planner direct reports required.
• Extensive knowledge of the acquisition of equipment, supplies and policies and procedures in healthcare required.
• Strong planning and organization, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Must demonstrate analytical, mathematical, decision-making, and negotiating skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong computer skills (MS Office)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the procurement and distribution of equipment, supplies and services.
• Develop best practices to ensure safety, quality, compliance, and cost reduction.
• Lead strategic sourcing, execution of agreements, bidding, negotiations, supplier selection/development, and contract management.
• Develop purchase orders in accordance with specifications and terms; prepare awards and administer POs.
• Negotiate additions, deletions, or modifications to purchase orders and resolve invoicing issues.
• Follow procurement policies and train the team as needed.
• Process and organize purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents for Accounts Payable.
• Main point of contact for hospital MM team.
