Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Highly organized.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Medical terminology necessary.
• Medical billing/coding experience or pre-authorization experience preferred.
• Highly motivated to work in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for standard clinic hours (8:00–4:30, 30-minute lunch).
• Obtain benefits and insurance prior-authorizations for physical therapy services as needed.
• Verify insurance benefits and coverage to ensure accurate patient scheduling and authorization requirements.
• Gather required clinical and insurance documentation, submit authorization requests, and follow up for timely approvals.
• Coordinate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding authorization status and scheduling needs.
• Provide front desk support during downtime (check-in, greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling).
• Strive to create The Iowa Clinic Experience with every patient and team interaction.
