Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of inventory, purchasing, or materials management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control practices.
• Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
• Previous scrub tech experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center.

Responsibilities

• Researches and obtains pricing/quotes for medical equipment and supplies.
• Maintains files and knows USPI procurement requirements for inventory, disposal, and acquisition.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels and establishes par levels.
• Uses national USPI agreements for supplies.
• Interfaces with departments to ensure proper placement, follow up and delivery.
• Manages Utility Management Program.
• Understands facility maintenance related to oxygen, vacuum pumps, air filter exchanges, and alarms.
• Interacts with sales reps to resolve supply delivery issues.
• Maintains document flow for the automated inventory system.
• Receives all incoming supply items and rotates stock.
• Implements and maintains the automated inventory system.
• Conducts quarterly physical inventory of implants and inventory items.
