NHC HealthCare Smithville is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform a range of maintenance duties, support residents, and collaborate with staff to ensure smooth operations. The role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities include maintenance of equipment, grounds upkeep, and coordinating with departments to avoid disrupting care. On-call availability may be required; HVAC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or technical school graduate.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals; knowledge of local codes, ordinances and safety regulations.
• Ability to plan and carry out repair or new construction and/or installation; ability to direct others.
• Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.
• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and their care.
• Ability to deal tactfully with patients.
• HVAC experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsabilités

• Heavy duty cleaning, light grounds care, maintenance of institutional equipment.
• Keep records of work performed.
• Coordinate work with other departments to avoid interrupting patient care or normal business functions.
• Be on call for emergencies.
