NHC Somerville, a 78-bed post-acute facility, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The role involves reading technical manuals, performing repairs, and coordinating with other departments to minimize disruption to patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school or technical school diploma, basic knowledge of codes and safety regulations, and the ability to plan maintenance and track costs. HVAC experience is helpful; on-call duties are required.

Responsibilities

• Keep records of work performed and costs involved.
• Coordinate work of maintenance with other departments to avoid interrupting patient care.
• Advise Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance and repair needs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and partners.
• Be willing to perform on-call duties after hours.
• Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator.
