Job summary

McGuireWoods seeks a Business Development Manager to lead Healthcare and Life Sciences initiatives across Chicago, Richmond, New York, or DC. You will develop strategic plans and coordinate marketing functions with the lawyers to drive revenue-generating opportunities.

The role serves as the primary contact for client opportunities, shaping messaging and collaborating across offices to advance initiatives. A hybrid remote option supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least five years in business development/marketing within a law firm, comparable professional services, or Healthcare/Life Sciences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities; makes decisions and adapts to changing environments.
• Strong project management experience including conferences and events.
• Strategic thinker with branding and consistency of messaging.
• Self-starter capable of balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day execution; Foundation experience desired.
• Tech-savvy with ability to learn new software; interest in AI tools like Harvey and Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with attorneys in assigned practice groups to develop business plans and marketing strategies.
• Drive client targeting, opportunities, pitches and RFP responses; develop collateral and thought leadership.
• Develop and maintain marketing materials, bios and representative experience.
• Budget planning and forecasting; monitor expenses and results.
• Serve as a mentor and team lead to junior colleagues.
