Job summary

Merit House Rehab is seeking a Housekeeping Laundry Aide to ensure sanitation and cleanliness of healthcare facilities by handling laundry and performing janitorial duties with precision and care. You will operate laundry equipment, clean patient areas, follow OSHA safety protocols, and collaborate with healthcare staff to support infection prevention and patient safety in daily operations.

This paid position offers hands-on training with floor care, chemical handling, and safe lifting

Qualifications

Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare or similar settings.
Knowledge of OSHA chemical handling and safety protocols.
Experience with infection prevention and control in healthcare.
Familiarity with cleaning equipment like floor buffers and laundry machines.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely.

Responsibilities

Operate laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing.
Perform cleaning tasks across healthcare facilities ensuring high sanitation standards.
Handle chemicals safely during cleaning processes per OSHA regulations.
Lift and move heavy linens and supplies safely.
Maintain floors with proper cleaning techniques and equipment.
Follow infection prevention protocols by sanitizing high-touch areas and documenting activities.
Document laundry cycles and cleaning activities accurately.
Collaborate with healthcare staff to meet sanitation needs efficiently.
