Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Cook/Assistant Chef for the Skilled Nursing at Mill Creek in Silsbee, TX. You will prepare patient meals according to approved menus, ensure sanitation and food safety in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Manager Certificate.
• Experience in quality food preparation in long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of meals per assigned menus.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment and work areas.
• Labels, dates, and stores food items/leftovers.
• Prepares special items, meals, and snacks.
• Trains or supervises Nutrition Services staff as needed (PIE).
• Ensures patient meals are served attractively with correct temperature.
