Job summary

Emeraldbrookside in Lincoln, NE is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in our skilled nursing facility. You will follow dietary guidelines, work with the dietary team, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role supports residents’ dietary needs, adheres to recipes and portion controls, and collaborates with healthcare staff to ensure quality meals. Shift is 1:00 PM–8:30 PM with every other weekend, offering professional growth and reliable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification preferred.
• Healthcare or institutional cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Menu Adherence: Follow standardized recipes and portion control procedures.
• Kitchen Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen per health regulations.
• Resident Needs: Accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences while meeting nutritional needs.
• Inventory Management: Assist in ordering and stocking food supplies.
• Collaboration: Work with dietary staff to plan and review menus with residents in mind.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of food temperatures and portions as required.
• Training: Participate in ongoing training on food safety and dietary best practices.
