Job summary

Emerald Nursing Limited in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks a Cook to support nutritious meals for residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will collaborate with the dietary team to follow dietary guidelines and ensure meals meet individual needs while keeping a clean, safe kitchen.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with shifts from 6am to 2pm and a requirement to work every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.
• Experience: Cook with healthcare or institutional exposure is a plus.
• Must follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special diets.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to planned menus and dietary needs.
• Menu Adherence: Follow standardized recipes and portion control for consistency.
• Kitchen Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per health regulations.
• Resident Needs: Adjust meals for dietary restrictions and preferences while meeting nutrition goals.
• Inventory Management: Assist in ordering and stocking food supplies.
• Collaboration: Work with dietary staff to plan menus and address resident concerns.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of temperatures, portions, and dietary modifications.
• Training: Participate in ongoing training on food safety and best practices.
