Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks an Interpreter Services Manager to oversee daily operations of the Interpreter Services Department, ensuring superior language access for LEP patients. You will supervise interpreters, track metrics, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive service quality across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with laws and Joint Commission standards, and performing interpretation and translation as needed.

Qualifications

• Nine years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
• Certification from a medical interpreter program such as CCHI or NBCMI.
• Solid subject matter knowledge of medical interpretation and translation services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Interpreter Services department.
• Supervise medical interpreters and department coordinators.
• Track program metrics and provide updates to leadership.
• Engage with stakeholders across the organization and mentor staff.
• Ensure quality of interpretation and translation services, including vendors.
