Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking an Interpreter Services Manager to oversee daily operations of the Interpreter Services department. You will ensure access for LEP patients, enforce Joint Commission standards, and report metrics to leadership.

The role requires supervising staff, mentoring team members, and performing medical interpretation and translation as needed. Based in Hillcrest with travel to La Jolla/East Campus as required.

Qualifications

• Nine years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.
• Certification from a medical interpreter school or program such as CCHI or NBCMI.
• Experience and proven knowledge of medical interpretation and translation services.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of interpreters and department coordinators.
• Tracks program metrics and provides regular updates to leadership.
• Mentors, trains and coaches direct reports.
• Performs medical interpretation and translation.
