Job summary

CannonDesign seeks a designer to join our multi-disciplinary team on a major healthcare facility project at Mayo Clinic’s campus. The role combines design and technical focus, collaborating with design and technical leadership and supporting project teams across all phases from programming to construction administration.

We value a Bachelor or Master in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, at least two years of experience, and a strong portfolio. NCIDQ is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Strong creative design portfolio is essential as are strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Professional business attire is required for all client meetings. Examples include suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts.
• Travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the design team in all project phases from Programming to Construction Administration.
• Assist with furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) selection, layout and specification throughout all phases of interior design work.
• Assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces, including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and finishes.
• Conduct research for product and finish selections; assist in development of finish plans and specifications.
• Become familiar with building and life safety codes and their correct application to Interior Design work.
• Assist in preparing presentation materials and computerized renderings.
• Produce drawings and perform support functions in conformance with project constraints.
• Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
• Assist in selecting building materials and maintain the Interior Design library; order samples and materials.
• Continually focus on learning, researching, and exploring the interior design field.
