Job summary

Bristol Hospital is seeking an Interface Analyst to develop, test, and support HL7 interfaces across clinical and financial systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement interfaces that align with the hospital's mission and goals.

The role requires an information systems or computer science background, with experience in interface engines such as Summit and Meditech, and a focus on quality, documentation, and timely problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 7 years healthcare interface experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• 2–3 years of on-the-job interface/programming experience in healthcare.
• Experience with HL7, XML, and various transaction formats.

Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, implements, enhances, and supports interfaces across clinical and financial domains.
• Acts as technical liaison between vendors, analysts, management, and end-users.
• Provides integration/interface recommendations for managers.
• Supports interface engine upgrades.
• Takes on-call duties to troubleshoot urgent issues.
• Collaborates with technical resources and clinical analysts to meet system needs.
• Writes design documentation and functional specifications.
• Documents interfaces, programs and reports.
