Qualifications

• 2 year college program or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience in billing, insurance verification, customer service and front desk registration is required.
• Word processing and Windows-based computer applications skills are required.
• Experience coordinating pre-certifications and authorizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and clinic staff with clerical duties.
• Obtain and document pre-certification of pre-authorized insurance requests for clinic services.
• Obtain authorizations for referrals when required.
• Interface between physicians, Genesis Health Group departments, and insurance organizations regarding precertification issues.
• Initiate and follow up on appeals for denied payments.
