Guidehouse is seeking an Health Information Management Manager in Birmingham, AL to lead the HIM Department's activities and projects while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and other standards. The role includes policy development for standardization of medical data, staff management, and regular performance reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in HIM or Health Informatics with RHIA/RHIT certification and strong leadership, multitasking, and process-improvement skills to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health information management, health informatics, or related field.
• RHIA or RHIT certification by AHIMA is required or may be substituted by relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and manages activities, workload and special projects for the HIM Department.
• Ensures compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Develops policies for standardization and access to medical information.
• Manages staff including selection, scheduling, evaluation and disciplinary counseling.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports and analyzes data for corrective actions.
• Represents the department in hospital and health system meetings.
