Camelot Nursing & Rehab in Missouri is seeking a detail-oriented HR Specialist to support payroll, benefits, and staff administration in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will maintain personnel files, process hires and status changes, coordinate background checks, onboarding, leave requests, timecard issues, and ensure compliance, privacy, and accuracy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college or technical coursework preferred.
• Healthcare HR experience is preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Maintains personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
• Processes employee status changes, terminations, wage increases, and new hires in HRIS.
• Processes background checks, drug tests, and references.
• Prepares new-hire paperwork and onboarding; enters employee data in HRIS.
• Audits staffing and census reports daily.
• Assists in hiring by coordinating postings, reviewing resumes, and conducting phone interviews.
• Supports payroll processing: timekeeping, wage changes, approvals.
• Responds to employee benefit and payroll inquiries.
• Coordinates with staff to address staffing needs and leave requests.
• Maintains OSHA logs and reporting.
