Job summary

Strive Rehabilitation Partners in Houston, TX seeks an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to oversee payroll, benefits, and employment compliance across a growing healthcare organization. This hands-on leadership role requires building reliable processes and partnering with executives to support a distributed workforce.

You will manage timekeeping, onboarding, licensing tracking, and policy administration while ensuring multistate compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• At least five years of progressive experience in human resources, payroll administration, or related business operations.
• Experience independently managing payroll and employee administration.
• Working knowledge of federal employment regulations and multistate payroll and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience administering employee benefits, onboarding, personnel records, and HR policies.
• Proficiency with payroll and HR information systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential employee, financial, and organizational information.
• Ability to work independently, identify problems proactively, and follow through to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete payroll process, including payroll preparation, review, processing, and reconciliation.
• Manage onboarding, employment changes, leaves of absence, and separations; maintain confidential personnel files.
• Coordinate background checks, employment eligibility verification, and licensure tracking.
• Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, renewals, and related communications.
• Monitor employment compliance across states Strive operates in.
• Develop HR policies, SOPs, and administrative workflows.
• Prepare regular reports concerning staffing, payroll, employee compliance, and other operational metrics.
