Emerald Nursing & Rehab Mercy seeks an experienced HR Coordinator to support our Human Resources department in Omaha, NE. The role oversees HR functions, ensures policy compliance, and drives staff engagement, recruitment, retention, and workforce development.

The position supports full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, payroll, leaves, labor meetings, and benefits coordination, collaborating with the Administrator and nursing leadership to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in HR, recruiting, or training required.
• Healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
• Demonstrate dependability, leadership, and communication.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws and best practices.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll or benefits is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Recruiting: post ads, sponsor visas, attend job fairs, verify licenses.
• Onboarding: complete onboarding docs, reference checks, background checks.
• New Hire Orientation: organize orientation, notify managers, submit paperwork.
• Labor Meetings: lead weekly labor meetings, coordinate with leadership to fill positions.
• Payroll: prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll, handle garnishments and unemployment claims.
• Worker’s Compensation: submit injuries, chair monthly safety committee.
• FMLA & Leave: notify eligibility, educate managers, manage leave requests.
• Turnover & Retention: conduct exit and stay interviews, review turnover trends.
• Staff Development & In-services: monitor training schedules, report concerns.
• Employee Relations/Disciplinary: assist with disciplinary processes, trainings.
• Benefits Coordination: explain benefits, train staff, ensure timely status changes.
• Resident Rights: report allegations of resident abuse.
