Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a highly organized Staffing Coordinator to join our HR team. The role focuses on coordinating nursing and support staff schedules to ensure residents receive high-quality care with appropriate coverage across all shifts.

The Staffing Coordinator will manage attendance, schedule changes, and on-call rotations, while collaborating with HR and nursing leadership to address staffing challenges and support onboarding of new staff.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in scheduling required, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with scheduling software (experience with Apploi, OnShift, or similar is a plus).
• Knowledge of state staffing regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
• Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage staff schedules for nursing and support teams.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels in accordance with state regulations and facility needs.
• Communicate shift changes, open shifts, and schedule updates to staff in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, time-off requests, and shift swaps.
• Collaborate with HR and nursing leadership to address staffing challenges.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding new staff as needed.
• Monitor compliance with policies related to attendance, punctuality, and staffing requirements.
• Provide support in handling last-minute schedule adjustments due to emergencies or call-offs.
