Job summary

Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform core accounting duties within a nonprofit healthcare setting. You will manage accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and grant-related reporting, supporting month-end close and financial integrity.

The role emphasizes grant accounting, GAAP compliance, and collaboration across departments to enable organizational growth and responsible financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit or healthcare finance is a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record incoming cash receipts with accurate coding.
• Reconcile monthly bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end journal entries and closing processes.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and support depreciation reporting.
• Support annual budget preparation and departmental input.
• Process and post approved invoices, ensuring timely payments.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve invoice issues.
• Prepare grant-related invoices and financial reports.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and audit schedules.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Support IRS Form 990 and other filings.
