Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab seeks an experienced healthcare attorney to support leadership across legal, compliance, privacy, regulatory and operational functions. You will provide practical, risk-based advice, draft and negotiate complex agreements, and manage regulatory matters.

Reporting to the Associate Deputy General Counsel and the Executive Director, Corporate Compliance, you will collaborate with Medical, Research, Finance, HR and Facilities to protect patient care and advance SRAlab’s

Qualifications

• Requires Juris Doctor degree and active Illinois licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience or related field.
• Certifications in healthcare compliance and privacy preferred (e.g., CHC, CHPC, CHRC, CCEP).
• Prior managed care experience and experience drafting/negotiating complex agreements preferred.
• Strong judgment, relationship-building and risk-based advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance advice to SRAlab leadership and staff across departments.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex healthcare and commercial agreements.
• Research and respond to regulatory actions, subpoenas and inquiries.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Office of General Counsel on agency matters (IDPH, CMS, FDA) and audits.
• Support patients' care issues, policies, privacy and risk management initiatives.
