Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, OR is seeking a Front Office Assistant to support daily clinic operations. You will register patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and prepare charts in Epic while delivering courteous service at the front desk.

This role requires strong data entry, phone handling, and HIPAA confidentiality. Flexible scheduling including evenings or weekends may be needed; prior medical setting experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in customer service or administrative support.
• Basic computer, phone systems, and data entry skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collects and enters patient demographics into Epic.
• Schedules, cancels, and reschedules patient appointments and referrals.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and prepares charts for visits.
• Scans and indexes documents into the EMR promptly and accurately.
• Answers calls and greets patients with professionalism and empathy.
• Records no-shows and routes messages to the appropriate staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
