Job summary

Cadia Healthcare - Pike Creek in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our Maintenance Director in building and equipment upkeep, safety, and daily facility tasks. You will help with preventative maintenance, repairs, and basic trades to keep the facility comfortable and compliant.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and at least two years in maintenance, with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance role.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electric, carpentry & mechanical systems (including relevant equipment & tools).
• Experience working in a healthcare, long-term care environment or with the elderly preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that infection control and standard precautions are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
• Follow policies governing use/disposal of PPE and infectious waste.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on facility and equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc.).
• Service heating and cooling units/systems in accordance with policies.
