Job summary

Cadia Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Wilmington, DE to support the Maintenance Director with facility improvements and preventive tasks. The role focuses on keeping the building safe and comfortable for residents, with a team of skilled medical professionals.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in maintenance, strong knowledge of HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, and comfort working in healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance role.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electric, carpentry & mechanical systems.
• Experience working in a healthcare, long-term care environment or with the elderly preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures infection control and standard precautions are maintained during maintenance tasks.
• Adheres to policies for PPE usage and disposal of infectious waste.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., including snow removal.
• Maintain and repair facility and equipment including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems per manufacturer instructions and policies.

Position Description

The Maintenance Assistant should support the Maintenance Director in carrying out various facility improvements, preventative tasks & repairs to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures that established infection control & standard precaution practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
• Follow established policies governing the use/disposal of personal protective equipment and disposal of infectious waste.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways etc. by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, snow removal, etc., as necessary/directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical etc., as directed, in accordance with established policies.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
