Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have manual dexterity to handle tools.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with nursing, administration and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in service delivery.
• Painting, spackling, textures, interior/exterior walls and ceilings.
• Cleans and maintains paint area and supplies.
• Maintains records of patient rooms and painting/repair cycles.
• Performs carpentry – drywall – steel framing repairs or projects.
• Organizes and maintains spare parts and inventory.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment and fixtures; cleans equipment.
• Participates in Emergency Preparedness Plans.
• Assists on projects and repairs as needed.
• Follows OSHA, TDH and JCAHO guidelines and requirements.
