Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance staff in executing scheduled and unscheduled work across owned and leased properties.

You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and local codes, monitor equipment, order supplies, and train staff to uphold high standards of operational reliability across the campus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years maintenance experience required.
• Ten (10) years experience in Healthcare maintenance and/or supervisory position in general maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance staff in an effort to achieve all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for owned and leased properties. Ensures work is completed in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
• Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and working conditions.
• Working with the Facilities Compliance Coordinator, ensures The Joint Commission standards relative to the Environment of Care and Life Safety are fully met.
• Orders supplies and materials for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Working with Facilities Manager and Facilities Compliance Coordinator, ensures maintenance staff are trained in all applicable policies and regulations including, but not limited to, UAB, Joint Commission, OSHA, EPA, ADEM, and local fire code. Monitors compliance with these policies and regulations
