Job summary

The Region HR is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to maintain health center facilities and grounds, performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections across clinic locations to ensure a safe, functional environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, groundskeeping, and documenting work orders, while adhering to OSHA safety and infection control guidelines in an on-site healthcare setting in Alabama.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.
2–3 years of general building maintenance experience; healthcare setting preferred.
Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification or trade certifications (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance on building structures, plumbing, basic electrical systems, fixtures, and clinical facility hardware.
Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety hazards and compliance issues.
Respond to work orders and urgent facility emergencies.
Perform basic carpentry, drywall patching, painting, door/lock repair, and light equipment assembly.
Assist with groundskeeping, waste management, and seasonal upkeep.
Log completed work orders and maintenance records.
Assist with moving furniture and reconfiguring clinic spaces.
Maintain OSHA safety and infection control compliance.
