Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking an Environmental Service Assistant to perform cleaning tasks across our facilities. You will clean, sanitize, and restock in patient and non-patient areas, follow infection prevention protocols, and support a safe, healthy environment for patients, families, and staff.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and attention to detail. Full-time, benefits eligible, on-site at 1320 W. Main St., Newark.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to a clean environment.
• Ability to properly use, care for, and maintain cleaning equipment.
• LMH is accredited and may require annual education related to standards.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, mops, and scrubs hard-surface floors in assigned areas.
• Vacuums and maintains carpeted areas and may operate carpet extraction equipment as needed.
• Collects and properly disposes of trash and waste.
• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including dusting, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and replenishing supplies.
• Cleans, disinfects, and maintains restrooms.
• Performs specialized cleaning and disinfection for certain patient areas using approved products.
• Removes and replaces cubicle curtains as needed.
• Follows established cleaning, sanitation, infection prevention, and safety procedures.
