Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Environmental Services Technician to perform janitorial and custodial duties at a VA Medical Center.

You will work under supervision and support cleaning across patient and non-patient areas, using industrial cleaning equipment and following strict safety and hygiene standards. Responsibilities include floor and surface cleaning, waste handling, linen and textile management, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial/custodial work with ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures.
• Capacity to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and custodial duties across patient and non-patient areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment including scrubbers, buffers and vacuums.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, fixtures, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Move and rearrange furniture and supplies to complete cleaning tasks.
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory management as needed.
• Adapt to various tours and areas within the facility.
