Job summary

Veterans Health Administration is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform a full range of housekeeping duties in a VA Medical Center, across patient and non-patient areas. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts and locations, under EMS supervision, with emphasis on cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining sanitary facilities.

The incumbent will operate cleaning equipment, handle waste disposal, restock supplies, and ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform continuous cleaning activities and handle equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work across shifts.
• Work both independently and in teams under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas.
• Performs floor maintenance, wall washing, and cleaning of doors, baseboards, stairs.
• Cleans rest rooms, bathrooms and showers; disinfects and deodorizes fixtures.
• Replenishes supplies and moves furniture to accomplish tasks.
• Works across shifts per EMS Chief guidance.
