Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Omaha VA Medical Center, is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform comprehensive janitorial and custodial tasks in patient and non-patient areas.

Duties include cleaning, disinfecting, waste handling, inventory management of supplies, and routine maintenance of cleaning equipment to ensure a sanitary, safe environment for Veterans and staff. Shifts are full-time, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with days off varying.

Responsibilities

• Executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas
• Performs floor maintenance - wall washing
• Cleans doors - doorframes - baseboard corners and edges - and stairwells
• Empties trash and wastebaskets - replaces liners
• Transports general refuse - regulated medical waste and recycling to central collection areas
• Cleans rest rooms - bathrooms - and shower rooms, ensuring they are cleaned and meet standards
