Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient and non-patient care areas per procedures.
• Follow health care cleaning principles and safe chemical use.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards.
• Maintain logs and checklists up to date.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and assignment areas per procedures.
• Understand cleaning standards from AHE, APIC, AORN, CDC, The Joint Commission.
• Participate in departmental improvement initiatives to boost patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Restock environmental services carts and manage supplies.
• Dispose waste according to proper waste streams.
• Follow PPE donning and doffing protocols.
• Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
