Job summary

Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority in Cherokee, NC, seeks an Environmental Services Supervisory professional to oversee the EVS department, ensure high hygiene standards, and manage daily operations in a healthcare setting.

The role includes coordinating staff, maintaining safety protocols, and reporting on quality improvements. Regular weekends/holidays and collaboration with management are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years EVS with 2+ years in supervision.
• Healthcare setting experience highly preferred.
• T-CHEST or CHEST certification through AHE required.
• CSCT or CNACC certification preferred.
• Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Position will take 3–6 months to become proficient.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EVS resources and support hiring, promotion and annual staff reviews.
• Manage waste program in compliance with regulations.
• Perform quality improvement initiatives and report results.
• Maintain EVS closets, order supplies and manage inventory.
• Adjust staff schedules for absences (annual and sick leave).
• Promote infection control standards and patient safety.
• Coordinate with EVS manager and other leaders on staffing.
