Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to maintain clean, safe patient care areas, offices, and hospital facilities. You will support infection prevention efforts and help create a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Typical shifts involve cleaning rooms, disposing waste, keeping supplies stocked, following safety procedures, and attending required training. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to use smartphones or similar mobile devices for work assignments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Clean and disinfect isolation and precaution rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linens, and bulk waste.
• Maintain adequate supplies of paper products and soap in assigned areas.
• Keep equipment, carts, and Environmental Services closets clean, organized, and safe.
• Respond promptly to work assignments and department communications using mobile devices.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and equipment damage to leadership.
• Follow all departmental policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices.
• Attend required training and department meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and team members.
