Job summary

ChristianaCare is looking for an Environmental Services Associate to help keep patient areas, offices, and hospital facilities clean, safe, and sanitary. You will support infection prevention and ensure a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers.

The position starts at $17.80 per hour with increases after six months and one year of continuous employment, reflecting good-faith compensation and evaluation based on skills and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to use smartphones or similar mobile devices for work assignments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Clean and disinfect isolation and precaution rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linens, and bulk waste.
• Maintain adequate supplies of paper products and soap in assigned areas.
• Keep equipment, carts, and Environmental Services closets clean, organized, and safe.
• Respond promptly to work assignments and department communications using mobile devices.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and equipment damage to leadership.
• Follow all departmental policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices.
• Attend required training and department meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and team members.
