Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, caregivers, and visitors at our Newark campus.

The role supports infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and the overall appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service, follow safety and infection control standards, and work well both independently and as part of a team, using smartphones to receive work assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of housekeeping, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
• Comfortable using smartphones and electronic work tools for assignments.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, common areas, and ancillary hospital spaces.
• Maintain carts and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies throughout assigned areas.
• Clean and disinfect isolation and precaution rooms per infection control policies.
• Collect and transport trash and soiled linen from assigned areas.
• Respond to service calls and assignments using department devices.
• Attend department meetings and training programs.
• Report maintenance concerns and safety issues promptly.
• Promote a professional, helpful attitude with patients and staff.
