Job summary

NorthBay Health seeks an Environmental Services Aide to work under supervision of the EVS Supervisors and Director. The role ensures safety, cleanliness and infection control in a regulated hospital environment.

Responsibilities include completing daily cleaning tasks, communicating issues to supervisors, and maintaining documentation while upholding infection prevention policies and using UV disinfection equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of industrial janitorial experience preferred in healthcare settings.
• Experience with cleaning procedures and janitorial equipment in a healthcare environment is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Completes all assigned duties and daily cleaning tasks within required timeframes.
• Communicates issues to Lead or Supervisor and maintains documentation.
• Interacts with patients, visitors, staff and leaders with respectful communication.
• Complies with Infection Prevention Policies including hand hygiene and universal precautions.
• Handles, labels, uses, stores, and disposes chemicals per instructions.
• Handles soiled and clean linen per standard work.
• Prioritizes duties and adapts to changing demands in work areas.
• Operates equipment safely per training and standard work.
• Maintains communication and relationships with team members.
• Attends meetings and trainings and follows posted instructions.
• Supports leadership to meet Joint Commission and Patient Safety standards.
• Operates UV disinfection equipment as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
