Job summary

Highmark Health Summer 2027 Enterprise Risk Strategy Undergraduate Internship offers hands-on experience supporting enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, and strategic planning across a complex healthcare environment.

Interns work with risk professionals and business leaders to strengthen the ERM framework, contribute to risk reporting, research, and strategic initiatives, and develop analytical and communication skills in healthcare operations and information security contexts.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Health Informatics, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Information Security, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively while interacting with colleagues, clients, and internal/external stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving day-to-day operational problems.
• Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services with guidance from senior personnel.
• Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
• As requested by management, conduct research and reporting inclusive of recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
• Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
