Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks an Employee Relations Partner to advise leaders and staff on employee relations matters and to drive improvements in policies, processes, and controls. You will collaborate with the Manager of Employee Relations and Sr.

Director to ensure compliant, fair practices across the organization. Key responsibilities include handling inquiries, investigating workplace concerns, coaching leaders, and ensuring consistent application of policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
• Minimum five years of HR experience with at least 3 years in employee relations.
• Knowledge of employment laws and EE0 regulations.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles routine employee relations inquiries related to policies and procedures.
• Serves as initial contact for intake and assessment of employee issues.
• Maintains knowledge of employment laws and EEOC regulations.
• Ensures uniform application of HR policies and conducts disciplinary review for factual accuracy.
• Conducts workplace investigations related to harassment, hostile work environment, hotline complaints.
• Coaches and consults with leaders to improve engagement and retention.
• Acts as liaison for employee feedback to leadership.
• Responds to unemployment and other regulatory claims.
• Collaborates with People Team Centers of Excellence to address staffing issues.
• Researches and explains policies and employment laws to leaders and employees.
• Advises leaders on best employee relations practices and strategies.
