Job summary

Pediatric Home Service in Houston seeks a Supporting Documentation Supervisor to lead the documentation and medical records team, ensuring accurate, timely records and strict HIPAA compliance. This role guides staff, coordinates daily coverage, and drives improvements in processes and training to support high-quality pediatric care.

You will coach and develop staff, conduct regular 1:1s, and partner with leadership to implement EHR enhancements and CQI initiatives, shaping efficient operations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in healthcare administration or related environment.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and EHR systems.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and support employees.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with quality assurance, auditing, and process improvement.
• Collaborative leadership style and willingness to stay involved in day-to-day operations when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to assigned staff.
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and provide ongoing feedback.
• Lead department meetings and promote clear team communication.
• Coordinate schedules to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Help build an accountable, collaborative, and positive team environment.
• Partner with leadership to identify development and training opportunities.
• Support CQI initiatives and departmental audits for accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify workflow challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Develop training protocols and onboard staff consistently.
• Assist with EHR development and effective system utilization.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation in the EHR.
