Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Distribution Technician to support caregivers and departments with supply chain operations across Brown University Health facilities. You will ensure accurate receiving, put-away, and delivery of supplies while maintaining organized stock and adherence to safety standards.

Under supervision, you will use equipment like pallet jacks and reach trucks, perform cycle counts, and collaborate with suppliers to meet par levels and recall processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or greater than five years relevant experience.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in daily duties.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to use distribution equipment including electric pallet jacks and reach trucks.
• Numerical and clerical abilities to check gauges, read charts and prepare records.
• If driving, maintain a valid driver's license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance and practices per system policies and procedures.
• Follows processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of equipment and supplies.
• Performs counting, organizing, ordering, delivery, picking, packaging, put away, inspection, and/or receiving tasks.
• Keeps stock in assigned areas clean and organized with proper labels.
• Orders per par levels, reorder points, package sizes, and unit measures.
• Implements FIFO and stock rotation; handles recalls and substitutions.
• Acts on reports for cycle counts, stock audits, discrepancies, and reconciliations.
• Receives material by verifying packing slips and purchase orders; maintains records.
• Puts away materials in correct locations; delivers orders across Brown University Health locations.
• Unloads supplies using hand and electric lifts; transfers to appropriate locations.
• Replenishes patient and ancillary supply carts and maintains stock in patient care areas.
• Interacts with suppliers to confirm or expedite deliveries and initiate returns.
• Performs other duties, may provide training to new staff.
