Job summary

ISH Dining Services is seeking a Cook for our healthcare facility to prepare a wide variety of meals for residents, staff, and visitors. You will follow recipes, meet meal schedules, and ensure food safety and cleanliness in a compassionate environment.

The role requires reading and speaking English, a high school diploma or GED (or 2+ years in healthcare), and willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays. You will collaborate with kitchen staff and report to the Food Service Director.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• High school diploma or GED or 2+ years in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents, employees and visitors.
• Follow recipes and schedules; perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Direct other food service staff in the absence of the Food Service Director.
• Handle and prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Prepare meals as prescribed by physicians; meet meal schedules; minimize waste.
• Care for dietary equipment and production sheets.
• Follow menus and special diet instructions.
• Communicate with the Food Service Director; cooperate with staff.
• Ensure high quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere.
• Report occupational exposures and injuries per policy.
• Complete training and participate in life safety drills.
• Perform other duties as requested.
