Job summary

ISH Dining Services is seeking a Cook for a healthcare setting to prepare and cook a wide variety of foods according to recipes and schedules. You will ensure sanitary preparation, follow menus/diet instructions, and work with staff to deliver high-quality meals to residents.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or 2+ years in healthcare) and you must be able to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED or at least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare field and/or related industry.
Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and maintain compassion and dignity for residents.
Must be able to work every other weekend, as well as holidays and as needed, to ensure proper staffing levels.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods according to recipes.
Plan cooking schedules to meet mealtime schedules and perform related duties.
Direct other food service employees in the absence of the Food Service Director.
Handle and prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
Prepare palatable and appetizing meals and follow menus and special diet instructions.
Communicate freely with the Food Service Director and cooperate with staff.
Ensure that residents receive the highest quality meals.
Complete all assigned training and skills competency.
