Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Architect to collaborate with a Project Manager or Project Architect on Acute and Non-Acute Healthcare projects. You will support all project phases from validation through close-out, coordinating with teams, consultants, contractors, and Owners.

You will develop designs with BIM tools, present to stakeholders, and ensure cost parameters and accessibility codes are met while leading project teams on medium-size efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience, preferably on large teams with healthcare or institutional clients.
• Healthcare (OSHPD/HCAI) experience is desired.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for projects of medium complexity/size.
• Leading others in project team setting and design critiques.
• Inspires creativity, critical thought and design excellence both internally and externally.
• Conceptualizes a building design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, budget, and program.
• Develops a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups.
• Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
• Presents the design or technical information with the Project Manager to stakeholders during early project phases. Develops building design in accordance with cost parameters.
• Evaluates and selects building systems and materials.
• Coordinates building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
• Implements sustainable design principles into the design and environment.
• Analyzes site incorporating geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, social, economic, and contextual conditions.
• Ensures that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.
