Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to apply for the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship, a program blending data science, ML, AI, and software engineering to address real healthcare challenges.

Interns collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to build innovative solutions using clinical and healthcare data, with tracks in Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; pursuing graduate degree encouraged.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Under supervision, provide professional services aligned with daily objectives.
• Undertake and participate in projects to develop professional skills.
• Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives.
• Conduct research and reporting with recommendations or alternative proposals.
