Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate students to join the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship. The program focuses on applying advanced analytics, ML, AI, and software engineering to clinical and healthcare challenges across a structured four-track approach: Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Interns will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to build innovative solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; pursuing or acceptance into a graduate degree program preferred.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Experience with data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborators.
• Under supervision, contribute professional data science services aligned with team objectives.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Support planning and implementation of unit projects within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and reporting with actionable recommendations when requested.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs to meet objectives.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
