Job summary

Highmark Health invites applications for the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development (DSRD) Graduate Internship. This internship enables graduate students to apply advanced data science, ML, AI, and software engineering to solve clinical and healthcare challenges.

Interns will work with a multidisciplinary team on high-impact research initiatives using clinical, medical, and healthcare insurance data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor2s degree required.
• Pursuit of graduate degree (Master/Ph.D.) in a relevant field preferred.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Experience with data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Assist in applying advanced data science, ML, AI, and software engineering techniques to healthcare data.
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers.
• Contribute to research projects, design analytical solutions, and evaluate models.
• Communicate findings to technical and business audiences.
