Job summary

Highmark Health seeks a graduate internship in Data Science Research & Development in Utah. The role applies advanced data science, ML, AI, and software engineering to healthcare data, including clinical, medical, and insurance data, across multiple tracks.

You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers on high-impact projects, gaining exposure to graph technologies, computer vision, generative AI, and explainable ML in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; pursuit of graduate degree preferred.
• Graduate degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Strong programming experience in Python and data science libraries.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases is expected.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clientele, and other stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving day-to-day problems.
• Under supervision, provide professional services aligned to day-to-day operating objectives with guidance from senior personnel.
• Undertake and participate in projects and programs to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects within area of expertise and ability.
• Conduct research and reporting with recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
• Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the unit’s objectives.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
